Position: Quality Engineering / Continuous Improvement Co-op Student
Duration: 3 Months
Summary
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Intern - Co op Student to join our dynamic team at Malley Industries. Based in Canada, this role offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring engineers to gain hands-on experience in quality, manufacturing and product development while contributing to impactful projects.
Project Scope:
Support a torque mapping and fastener standardization project across vehicle assembly systems.
The student will assist with shop floor data collection, process mapping, documentation, and identification of improvement opportunities to strengthen process control and audit readiness.
Responsibilities
- Conduct shop floor walkthroughs
- Identify and document fastener types, sizes, locations, and current torque specifications
- Create and maintain torque/fastener tracking sheets
- Support work instructions and process documentation updates
- Identify process gaps and standardization opportunities
- Present project findings and recommendations
Expected Deliverables:
- Torque/Fastener Mapping Matrix
- Gap Assessment
- Documentation updates
- Final project summary presentation
Qualifications
- Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, Management and Administration or related programs.
Skills / Highlights
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with process mapping tools is an asset
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
