Compensation: $40 per hour.
Regular Work Hours: 7.25 work hours per day, not including .75 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location: 100% onsite at client's North York work location, short walk from TTC station. No parking provided onsite.
Responsibilities Summary:
Experienced Communications Coordinator for high profile government agency, supporting busy communications team across broad range of communications initiatives and programs.
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate social media content calendars across all organizational social media platforms, including static graphics, animation, and video content.
- Design and produce a variety of communication and marketing materials using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Assist internal stakeholders with creative design, branding, and layout requests.
- Coordinate with internal business units and external vendors to deliver communications, design, translation, and production services.
- Support the communications team in executing marketing campaigns, projects, and organizational initiatives.
- Coordinate procurement activities, including processing purchase orders, invoices, and vendor documentation.
- Ensure communications projects are delivered on schedule while maintaining quality and brand standards.
- Additional corporate communications responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Education: University Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management or related field.
Preferred Work Experience: At least 4-5 years of experience with social media content management for a corporate environment.
Preferred Sector Experience: Government, public or broader public sector experience preferred.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe design products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, After Effects (will be tested).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (will be tested).
- Expert level attention to detail (will be tested).
- Expert level written English including business writing, spelling, grammar, proofreading and syntax (will be tested).
- Expert level verbal English conversational skills including verbal presentation skills suitable for a diverse range of audiences and polished, professional telephone manners.
- Fluency in French an asset (all candidates presented as Bilingual will complete written and verbal French fluency evaluation).
Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes:
- Demonstrated experience managing corporate social media channels and content calendars.
- Experience coordinating external vendors for communications, design, production, and marketing services.
- Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character. Responsible, reliable and works to deadlines.
- Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.
- Advanced organizational, coordinative and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively for self and others, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills including client and vendor relations management skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
- Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
- Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
- Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
- Satisfactory Background Checks including a Social Media Check, Technical Skills Evaluations, Interpersonal Skills Assessment, and Employment References as required.
