Sourcing Specialist
Position Type: Permanent/Full-Time
Location: Vaughan, ON (3 days a week on-site)
Compensation: $75,000 to $85,000/Annually + Benefits + Vacation + RRSP
Our client is an established and growing consumer products organization recognized for its collaborative culture, innovative product portfolio, and global supplier network. They are seeking a Sourcing Specialist to support new product initiatives while partnering with international vendors and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management & Negotiation: Serve as a primary point of contact for new and existing global suppliers regarding quotation requests, pricing negotiations, and sample logistics.
- Costing & Landed Cost Execution: Own landed product cost calculations and deliver final landed cost models to Product Managers in close collaboration with Costing and Packaging teams.
- Documentation & Data Management: Maintain comprehensive vendor files, including Vendor Specification Sheets, factory audit reports, contracts, production equipment lists, and supplier scorecards.
- Market Research & Category Support: Conduct exploratory market and competitive shop research for new product development across imported product categories, analyzing material usage, pricing trends, and product specs.
- Product Launch & Sample Library: Partner with the Design and Development teams on product launches sourced from overseas vendor networks; manage and curate the central physical swatch and sample library.
- Transition & Continuous Improvement: Support product transition initiatives (e.g., vendor switches, material updates, price adjustments) and lead process improvement projects across the supply chain.
- Sales & Commercial Enablement: Maintain and update commercial Sales Kits as new products are introduced or legacy lines are modified.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a global sourcing, procurement, or product development support role within a consumer products (CPG), home goods, softlines, or manufacturing company.
- Vendor Base Knowledge: Proven experience interacting with socially and environmentally compliant global/import vendors.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong track record of partnering with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, Packaging, and Operations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; comfortable presenting operational details to internal stakeholders.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel nationally or internationally as needed for trade shows, product development, or factory site visits (valid passport required).
The indicated pay range is a good‑faith estimate based on required qualifications, experience, training, and other factors permitted by law. It reflects the pay band established by the client company. Actual offers may vary depending on skills, experience, geographic location, and expected work quality.
