Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily kitchen operations during brunch service, ensuring quality and consistency
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute creative menu items
- Manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to minimize waste
- Support smooth communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams
- Assist in training new team members and promoting professional growth
- Troubleshoot operational challenges quickly to maintain service flow
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak brunch hours
- Passion for creative, customer-oriented cuisine
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Mandatory working on weekends and holidays
Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills
- Culinary certification or formal training
- Experience with inventory management software

- Food Safe certified
- Previous experience in a brunch-focused restaurant

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range — Competitive and commensurate with experience (CAD). Benefits include paid time off, health coverage, staff meals, and opportunities for professional development.
Work Location & Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position based at Monki Bistro on Crowfoot Crescent in Calgary, Alberta. Weekend and holiday shifts are required to support our busy brunch service.
Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
