Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Spanish Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in teaching the Spanish language to younger students and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves both one-on-one sessions and small-group classes, teaching speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish, preparing students for academic success, and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and learning goals.
- Lead one-on-one sessions and small-group classes, managing group dynamics so that every student stays engaged and progresses.
- Provide class reports promptly after each session.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Use effective classroom management techniques to create a productive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate clearly with students, parents, and colleagues about learning progress and areas for development.
- Provide additional support to students who need extra help understanding class content.
- Adapt teaching to accommodate the diverse needs of learners.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Spanish, with excellent command of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
- Fluent in English.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience teaching small-group classes is required.
- Teaching experience preferred; special education experience is a plus.
- Valid teaching certification or license is a plus.
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to respect and incorporate the diverse cultural backgrounds of Canadian students into the teaching process.
- Comfortable using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- A genuine passion for educating students.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25–45 per hour, with higher compensation for group classes.
