Love people, variety and busy days that fly by?
Fort Saskatchewan Eyecare is looking for an energetic, friendly and organized Receptionist/Optometric Pretester to join our team!
We’re a busy, full-scope optometry clinic that takes excellent patient care seriously—but we also believe work should be positive, supportive and enjoyable. This role is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, learns quickly and can confidently keep several balls in the air without losing their smile.
No two days are exactly the same. One moment you’ll be welcoming a patient, the next you’ll be booking an appointment or helping prepare someone for their eye exam. If you enjoy staying active, solving problems and being part of a team, you may be exactly who we’re looking for.
What you’ll do
- Create a warm, welcoming experience for every patient
- Answer incoming calls and book appointments accurately and efficiently
- Gather and document patient and health information
- Prepare examination rooms and testing equipment
- Perform diagnostic and pre-examination testing
- Keep patients moving smoothly through the clinic
- Communicate delays and provide clear handoffs between departments
- Maintain accurate electronic patient, billing and financial records
- Assist with third-party billing and routine administrative duties
- Help patients with contact lens training, trials, orders and follow-up visits
- Maintain pretesting supplies and keep work areas clean and organized
- Participate in staff meetings, training and continuing education
- Build positive working relationships with patients, teammates, leadership and suppliers
You’ll be a great fit if you are
- Friendly, outgoing and genuinely enjoy helping people
- High-energy and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- A strong communicator, both in person and over the phone
- Organized, accurate and able to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable learning new technology and clinical equipment
- Dependable, punctual and professional
- Calm under pressure and ready to jump in wherever needed
- A positive team player who contributes to a great workplace culture
Experience in healthcare, reception, customer service or an optical setting would be an asset.
