Health and Counselling Services (HCS) offers student counselling services on all SFU campuses, in Burnaby, Vancouver, and Surrey. HCS provides support through individual sessions, group activities, and self-guided resources. All SFU students currently enrolled in classes can receive these free services in person, online, or by phone.
About the Role
The Counsellor, 2SLGBTQIA+ Students, is responsible for providing anti-oppressive, trauma informed, personal counselling for 2SLGBTQIA+ students. The position works collaboratively with other staff at Health and Counselling and Student Services, to provide individual assistance, counselling, groups, workshops, and programing initiatives that support 2SLGBTQIA+ students’ social and psychological wellbeing and outreach services. The Counsellor provides consultation/advice to faculty and staff dealing with students in crisis and assists in emergency situations.
