POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position is primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service by handling inquiries. This position assists with administrative tasks, document management, processing financial documentation, organizing office resources, and assisting with event preparations and projects. This role offers variable hours based on operational needs, making it ideal for someone who values flexibility and can manage their lifestyle without a guaranteed weekly schedule.
WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Provide information to residents, stakeholders, and other departments members following policies and procedures
- Act as the primary customer service liaison, handling inquiries, registrations, and collecting applicable fees
- Interact with the public through various communication methods offering information and guidance related to departmental services
- Possess a positive and friendly attitude; enjoy working with and serving the public
Administrative Support Duties
- Provide clerical and office support, including filing, word processing, transaction processing and reconciling, data entry, and mail handling
- Assist with applications, permits collection of fees, and balancing of records
- Assist with posting communication materials
- Assist with projects and event preparations, ensuring workspaces and equipment are functional and organized
- Maintain office equipment and departmental supplies
- Support referrals on a client-by-client basis
- Support Emergency Response Plans and Emergency Response preparedness
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working in a customer service role handling cash, processing payments, and reconciling daily cash transactions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and computer software systems to enter and submit required documentation
- Satisfactory background screening is required for this position including a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- A Class 5 Driver’s License with a satisfactory Drivers Abstract

WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours
Standard work week hours. May occasionally be required on evenings or weekends.
Physical Effort
Office-based work performed typically includes administrative duties and varying levels of physical effort, including moderate lifting (up to 10 kgs), sitting, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, driving, carrying. Repeated motion of office tasks.
Travel
Some travel to field sites within and outside the Town under various road and weather conditions. Must maintain alertness and respond appropriately using defensive driving skills in various conditions (traffic, weather, distractions).
Work Environment
Normal office environment. Locations such as offices and facilities where emergency support services are readily available. Moderate to significant exposure to the public in a service provision capacity. Potential exposure to client volatility dealing with the public.

Pay: $24.74-$26.81 per hour
