The Edmonton Heritage Festival Association (EHFA) is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and community‑minded Executive Director to lead one of Canada’s most beloved and largest multicultural celebrations. Position Overview
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive of the EHFA, responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, stakeholder engagement, and year‑round oversight of the Edmonton Heritage Festival. You will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, cultural partners, sponsors, and government stakeholders to ensure the Festival continues to grow as a safe, inclusive, and world‑class event.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership — Develop and execute long‑term organizational strategies aligned with EHFA’s mission, values, and strategic plan.
- Operational Oversight — Lead year‑round planning, budgeting, risk management, and festival logistics.
- Stakeholder Engagement — Build strong relationships with cultural communities, sponsors, funders, and government partners.
- Team Management — Mentor and support a small staff team and large volunteer network.
- Fund Development — Oversee sponsorships, grants, donor relations, and revenue‑generating initiatives.
- Community Representation — Serve as the public face of the organization and advocate for multiculturalism in Edmonton and beyond.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in non-profit management, festival/event operations, or community‑based organizations.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and grant management.
- Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience working with diverse cultural communities and volunteers.
- Ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities.
- Post‑secondary education in a relevant field is an asset.
