We are seeking a creative and dynamic Merchandiser and Social Media Specialist to join our team — with Merchandiser listed first by design. If your goal is solely to focus on social media, this role isn’t the right fit.
The right candidate will take full ownership of the objective, leveraging both avenues to their fullest: ensuring our seven stores look fantastic and eye-catching, and using social media strategically to drive traffic and engage customers. This is a role for someone who thinks visually, acts proactively, and combines creativity with results.
This self-starter candidate will take our brand to the next level — online and in our communities — with minimal supervision. You’ll travel to all seven locations, creating eye-catching displays, capturing content, and connecting with customers and store teams. Back at the office, you’ll turn those insights into strategies, produce content, and manage our online presence. This role is for someone who takes ownership, moves fast, and isn’t afraid to drive results.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in visual design, marketing, and customer engagement to drive brand awareness and customer loyalty. Prior experience in retail merchandising or independently creating dynamic displays is required, along with proficiency in various design and marketing tools.
Responsibilities
- Recognize and promote slow moving products well before the BBD
- Work together with management to create sales initiatives to boost online traffic
- Develop strategies to increase profit YOY by a minimum of 15%
- Work together with store staff for brand and promotional messaging
- Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with company goals
- Create compelling content including graphics, videos, and written posts using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Manage daily posting schedules across platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
- Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities and respond to comments and messages promptly
- Analyze social media metrics to assess campaign performance and optimize future content
- Collaborate with the marketing team to coordinate campaigns and promotional events
- Lead and manage visual display projects related to merchandising and branding across all stores
- Support overall marketing initiatives by contributing creative ideas for campaigns and promotions
Skills
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies
- Expertise in visual design, marketing, and customer engagement to drive brand awareness and customer loyalty
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for visual content creation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft engaging messages for diverse audiences
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Customer service experience beneficial for engaging with followers and clients online
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of retail sales, merchandising, and cashiering operations is advantageous for integrated marketing efforts
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating initiative and creativity
- Strong problem awareness and critical thinking skills, with the judgment to recognize when clarification, support, or escalation is needed.
Requirements
- Possess valid drivers licence and own vehicle
- Careful attention to detail tracking products and dates that will vary across locations
- Proven skill to independently create dynamic eye-catching displays that are consumer focused
- 3+ years experience engaging the public through social media platforms
- 3+ years’ experience in creating video and graphic content, including written copy
- Notable success increasing customer interaction and traffic
- Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks
- Self-driven in a results oriented environment
