The Rexdale Community Health Centre (RCHC) is a multi-service centre providing primary health care, health promotion and community support services, including settlement and community development activities for families, children, youth, adults and seniors of diverse backgrounds.
RCHC is currently recruiting a full-time permanent Maintenance Worker to support the facilities department.
Responsibilities and Related Tasks
- Provide general maintenance; perform minor repairs, small renovations, etc.
- Ensure that Building and Maintenance Work Order Requests at Taber Road and the satellite locations are addressed in a timely manner by bringing in appropriate contractors as needed (e.g. plumbers, electricians, etc.)
- Oversee building thermostat temperatures daily
- Assist with outside seasonal work (lawn and snow removal, etc.)
- Provide general cleaning inside and outside the premises and daily upkeep
- Provide building maintenance and assistance as per requests
- Communicate with contractors if needed (e.g. plumbers, electricians, etc.)
- Assemble, install and move office furniture
- Research quotes, locate contractors, assist with purchases and services
- Assist with building security and safety
- Coordinate furniture arranging and set up for special events
- Maintain and order building equipment
- Ensure general grounds' cleanliness and sanitation
- Participate in the purchasing of equipment, supplies, etc.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of the building, grounds and equipment of RCHC at all its locations
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of general maintenance experience with training
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Ability to monitor and recommend servicing
- Ability to carry out minor repairs on tools and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively
- Demonstrated experience with health and safety
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to provide a security clearance
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse cultures and ages.
Starting date: ASAP

Pay: $34,481.00-$41,551.00 per year
