Thrive program staff are energetic, outdoorsy adults 19 or older who have previous experience leading children. Day Camp positions work 40-45 hrs a week during the Summer Program (July and August).
***Class 5 license required***
The ideal candidate loves to be with children and see them grow, they will be skilled in and enjoy some of the following: swimming, sports, hiking, nature activities, arts and crafts, song leading, and games.

Below is a list of positions we are looking to fill:
Childcare Support Staff
Childcare worker for a day camp program for ages 5-12 will lead and support all children in a faith-based camp setting but have a special focus on children who require extra support in order to be safe and succeed in an active outdoor group setting due to physical, psychological, emotional or other challenges such as language barriers, hearing impaired etc. This extra support allows children with diverse abilities to participate in camp life and activities who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate. The support staff will also engage as a regular camp activity leader, leading activities & overseeing the general health and safety, and recreation of the whole group, to help create an all-inclusive environment without certain children standing out. Rec activities include activities like swimming, hiking, forest and pond play, crafts, camp songs, nature exploration, drama, storytelling, sports, and more.
Day Camp Minibus Driver
Class 4 driver responsible for transporting kids to and from educational and nature-based camp out-trips and activities in a faith-based. Including performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fueling up, and basic maintenance of the vehicle. The driver participates in the supervision and recreational leadership of camp kids while not in transit. Including hikes, nature exploration, games, crafts, outdoor activities, swimming, etc.
This position is an 8-week position that goes from June 24th - August 31st!
Qualifications
- Have prior experience leading children in a group setting
- 20 hours or more of child-related training (willing to train the right person)
- Emergency child or community first aid certificate with CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Clear criminal record check
- THRIVE staff don’t just supervise, they actively engage in all activities with the children so physical energy is a must!
