Duties
- Operate excavators with precision to dig trenches, foundations, and other site features according to project specifications
- Assist with the operation of related heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers to support construction activities
- Conduct routine inspections of excavators and other machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Coordinate with team members to execute site preparation, grading, and material movement tasks efficiently
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations and report any equipment issues or hazards immediately
- Support additional construction tasks including horizontal drilling, paving, and site leveling as needed
- Maintain detailed logs of daily operations, equipment usage, and maintenance activities
Requirements
- Must have GPS experience !
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic issues and perform routine maintenance on machinery
- Ability to operate related equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers effectively
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification for operating heavy vehicles on-site or between locations
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices for heavy equipment operation
- Strong understanding of construction processes including earthmoving, grading, paving, and horizontal drilling techniques
- Prior experience working with heavy machinery brands like Caterpillar is a plus
