Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for customizing, altering, and repairing garments to meet customer specifications. This role requires a strong eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. The Tailor will work closely with clients to ensure their clothing fits perfectly and meets their expectations.
Duties
- Measure clients accurately to determine tailoring needs
- Alter and adjust garments to fit individual specifications, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing
- Repair damaged clothing items by mending tears, replacing zippers, or patching holes
- Create custom garments based on client requests and specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficiency and safety
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on garment fitting and care
- Keep detailed records of alterations performed for each client
Skills
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating fabric requirements
- Strong customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction and build repeat business
- Excellent sewing skills with proficiency in using various sewing machines and hand tools
- Attention to detail to ensure precise alterations and high-quality craftsmanship
- Ability to interpret clothing patterns and technical drawings
- Good communication skills for understanding customer needs and providing professional recommendations
