Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is ideal for individuals interested in patient care and pharmacy operations, offering an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a clinical setting. The Pharmacy Assistant will support pharmacists in daily tasks, ensure smooth pharmacy operations, and provide excellent service to patients. Prior pharmacy experience is required.This position provides flexible hours and a chance to develop skills in medical terminology, medication administration, and patient interaction.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with prescription processing and medication dispensing
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Prepare and package medications under supervision, adhering to safety protocols
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and organize medication storage areas
- Answer patient inquiries and direct them to appropriate healthcare professionals when necessary
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and documentation of pharmacy activities
- Follow all safety procedures related to medication handling and patient care
Qualifications
- Prior experience is highly desirable
- Fillware experience is required.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- ability to learn and perform basic compounding is an asset.
- billing experience is an asset.
