Job Overview
Connections for Seniors (CFS) is hiring a Project Coordinator to lead a provincially funded Senior Newcomer Integration Program.
This role is ideal for a self-directed, highly motivated professional with proven experience working with New Canadians, immigrant seniors, or culturally diverse communities.
This position requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a community-based, outcomes-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of a community-based newcomer and senior integration program
- Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, and deliverables
- Independently oversee day-to-day operations and problem-solve as issues arise
- Supervise and support frontline program staff
- Build partnerships with immigrant-serving organizations, cultural groups, and community agencies
- Coordinate volunteers, including youth and intergenerational participants
- Track program outcomes, participant engagement, and service delivery metrics
- Prepare written reports, data summaries, and success stories for funders
- Support community outreach, public engagement, and cultural events
- Ensure programming is inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Community Development, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination, program management, or community development
- Experience working with New Canadians, immigrants, refugees, or multicultural communities
- Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks
- Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, community-focused nonprofit environment
Preferred Skills & Assets
- Experience with social programming or working with aging populations
- Volunteer coordination or staff supervision experience
- Multilingual skills
- Lived experience as a newcomer, immigrant, or community support worker
- Knowledge of community services in Newfoundland and Labrador

- 30 hours/week
- Approx. $37,000–$39,000 annually

Connections for Seniors (CFS) is seeking a Senior Integration & Support Hub Worker to deliver frontline newcomer support services to senior immigrants and New Canadians through the Senior Newcomer Integration Program.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated, people-focused individual who can work independently, build trust with participants, and provide hands-on support in a community setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate weekly Senior Integration & Support Hub drop-in programs
- Provide direct support to senior immigrants and New Canadians
- Assist participants with system navigation (healthcare, transportation, benefits, housing)
- Deliver one-on-one support, referrals, and follow-up services
- Support wellness, life skills, and culturally relevant programming
- Engage participants in social, intergenerational, and community activities
- Maintain attendance records, service logs, and participant feedback
- Work collaboratively with volunteers, interpreters, and community partners
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Social Work, Community Development, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Direct experience working with New Canadians, immigrants, or refugee populations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Cultural competency and comfort working with diverse populations
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends
