Landscape Designer & Estimator
Position Summary
The Landscape Designer & Estimator is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of residential and commercial landscape projects from initial client consultation through project completion. This role combines landscape design, estimating, client communication, scheduling, project coordination, and administrative support to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities
Client Relations & Site Visits
- Meet with clients to discuss project goals, budgets, and timelines
- Conduct site visits, measurements, and project assessments
- Provide professional recommendations and design ideas
- Maintain strong client communication throughout the project lifecycle
Landscape Design & Estimating
- Prepare landscape concepts, layouts, and design presentations
- Assist with material selections and project specifications
- Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, and project proposals
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and availability
Project Coordination
- Assist with scheduling crews, equipment, and materials
- Coordinate project timelines and monitor progress
- Support Project Managers and Foremen with daily operations
- Ensure projects are completed according to company standards and client expectations
- Help resolve site issues and communicate updates to clients and management
Operations & Administration
- Maintain project files, documentation, and job tracking
- Assist with invoicing, purchase orders, and change orders
- Coordinate permits, inspections, and utility locates where required
- Support overall office operations and administrative tasks
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
Work Style & Environment
- Ability to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks based on project demands
- Flexible schedule based on operational needs and client requirements
- Work will be a combination of remote (work-from-home) administrative/design work and field-based site visits and client consultations
- Must be comfortable managing time independently and adapting to changing project demands
Qualifications
- Experience in landscaping, construction, or project coordination
- Knowledge of landscape construction methods and materials
- Ability to read landscape plans and drawings
- Experience with estimating and quoting projects
- Proficiency in design and office software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Dynascape, or similar is an asset)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Edmonton, AB
