What's The Role
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in providing accurate and dependable day-to-day accounting services to our clients. You’ll work closely with senior accountants on bookkeeping and payroll tasks, and assist in preparing year-end financial statements and tax returns.
What You'll Be Doing
- Record client transactions using accounting software
- Prepare payroll calculation, pay slips and ROE
- Create routine and year-end adjusting entries
- Prepare and remit GST, PST, WCB returns
- Support senior accountants in preparing financial statements and corporate tax returns
- Review bookkeeping completed in various accounting softwares
- Prepare personal tax returns
- Communicate directly with clients and deliver exceptional service
- Assist with full-cycle accounting tasks when required
What We Are Looking For
- Solid understanding of personal and corporate income tax
- Educational background in accounting
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Minimum 1 year of tax experience in public practice
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other digital tools
- Familiarity with Taxprep, Caseware, or similar software
- Problem-solving mindset and collaborative attidtude
