Cook required for the YMCA Childcare Centre in Coldbrook. Hours to be determined with some flexibility. Monday to Friday only.
Some responsibilities include:
- Prepare nutritious meals for childcare children (up to 63 children ages 4 months - 5 years old)
- Ordering appropriate amount of food items and supplies from the grocery store and suppliers
- To abide by the YMCA Mission statement, YMCA Personnel policies and work description
- Light to moderate physical duties ie. standing for long period of time, kneeling, picking up of children/bulk food supplies, etc.
- Responsible for light cleaning and organization of kitchen and entire centre
Requirements:
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificate
- Current Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry check, or willing to obtain
- Current Food Handler's certificate is a MUST
- Knowledge of food preparation
- Must be able to work in Canada, and living within commuting distance or relocating prior to start date
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License or access to reliable transportation
- Working knowledge and experience with NS Childcare Licensing Act and Regulations as well as Canada’s Food Guide (an asset but not required)
