Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Respite Care Workers to provide temporary relief and support to individuals with diverse needs, individuals with disabilities, and those experiencing memory care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients and their families by delivering personalized care in and out of home settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine desire to assist others in maintaining their independence and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients during scheduled respite periods
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and support
- Administer medication reminders and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Engage clients in recreational activities tailored to their interests and abilities
- Monitor and report on clients’ health status, behavior, and any changes in condition
- Support clients with meal preparation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care delivery
Requirements
- Experience with working with people with cognitive disabilities is preferred
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of caregiving best practices is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with patience and empathy for those receiving care
- Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures diligently
- Reliable transportation may be required for client visits and activities
- Certification in caregiving or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory
- Must be physically fit for heavy lifting
Pay: $19.00 per hour
