Shop Assistant / Vehicle Installer
Overview:
Earth Communications is currently looking to hire a Vehicle Electronics Installer / Shop Assistant for our Acheson, AB branch. In business for over 25+ years, we offer communications products and services both in shop and in the field. Our ideal candidate will have telecom related and/or vehicle installation experience and willingness to cross train and work with the other products and services we provide supported by a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Skillset:
· Customer service focused.
· Strong communication, problem solving, and coordination/organizational skills.
· Able to work well as part of a team or by themselves – taking direction and prioritizing tasks.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
· High attention to detail and quality of work.
· Experience working with hand tools and mechanically inclined.
· Proficient in computer, smart phone, and basic misc. software use.
· Ability to perform the physical tasks of the position which involve sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting in, working at heights, working on ladders, working in small/tight spaces, carry a minimum of 30lbs for short distances, and spending most of the day on their feet.
Responsibilities:
· Installation of radios, cell boosters, cameras, and other peripherals in vehicles.
· Testing, inspecting and programming of products.
· Testing by means of watt meter, multimeter, antenna diagnostics, DTF, modulation, channel bandwidths and signal levels.
· Troubleshooting to provide best solutions to the customer.
· Accurately record time & materials for all assigned work using internal operating systems.
· Follow and participate in our safety program.
· Performing routine inspection and maintenance on company-owned equipment, tools, vehicles and trailers.
· Completing dispatched work orders and related job and safety paperwork.
· Supporting sales staff with customer inquiries & sales.
· Supporting the operations team with pre-field deployment tasks.
· Shop maintenance & housekeeping.
· Assist with shipping & receiving tasks.
· Follow and participate in our safety program.
· Other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
· Clean and valid driver’s license.
· Ability to pass a basic security clearance.
· Present themselves in a clean and tidy manner and have a professional attitude towards customers, vendors, and co-workers.
Schedule & Pay:
· Permanent Full-Time Monday-Friday day shift
· After probationary period employee eligible to join our Health & Wellness medical benefit programs.
· Wage will be negotiated upon experience.
