Suzanne’s, a leading women’s fashion retailer with 49 stores across Western Canada and a thriving online presence, is looking for a Payroll & Auditing Administrator to join our dynamic Head Office team in Chilliwack, BC.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly accurate, analytical, and confident working with data. The successful candidate will have advanced Excel skills, a strong ability to identify and resolve inconsistencies, and a natural curiosity for auditing, loss prevention, and process improvement. Previous experience with Payworks is an asset.
About the Role
This dual-role position is ideal for someone who thrives on precision, process, and proactive problem-solving. You’ll be responsible for managing bi-weekly payroll for our organization while ensuring our daily sales and auditing processes remain accurate and up to date.
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including T4 year-end submissions (Payworks)
- Manage source deductions, payroll journals, and employee remuneration records
- Administer benefit enrolment, vacation tracking, RRSP contributions, and DPSP plans
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Employee onboarding and offboarding, including issuing ROEs
- Handle WorkSafeBC/WCB online reporting, claims management, and progress tracking
- Provide payroll-related reports as required
Auditing & Financial Reconciliation
- Conduct daily reconciliation of sales registers with payment receipts across 50 stores
- Oversee store cash bank deposits to ensure financial accuracy
- Investigate and resolve sales/payment discrepancies in collaboration with store teams
- Maintain general ledger records, including gift card and credit note liabilities
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on financial trends and variances
- Liaise with stores via email and phone to resolve outstanding audit issues
What You Bring to the Team
- Minimum 2 years of payroll experience (Payworks knowledge is a strong asset)
- Familiarity with BC, AB, and SK Employment Standards
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Analytical thinking with sound problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other web-based applications
- Strong understanding of HR best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Confidence in leading small training sessions or presenting payroll updates
