Lead Shingler / Roofing Foreman
Wynker Brothers Exteriors is hiring an experienced Lead Shingler / Roofing Foreman to help lead and develop a dedicated shingle roofing crew.
We are a growing exterior company based in Chilliwack, BC, providing high-quality roofing and exterior solutions throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. We value hard work, integrity, quality craftsmanship, safety, and a positive team environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong shingle installer who can lead from the front, train newer installers, keep jobs organized, and help set the standard for our shingle roofing work.
About the Role
The primary focus of this position is to lead and develop new installers on shingle roofing projects.
We are looking for someone who can run a small crew, teach proper installation methods, maintain quality standards, and help build a reliable shingling team around them.
When shingle projects are not available, there will be opportunities to assist with metal roofing and exterior installation work. With the right training, this role may also grow into producing full metal roofing jobs in the future.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop newer installers on shingle roofing projects
- Run or help run a small crew of approximately 2–3 installers
- Train crew members on proper shingle installation, safety, site setup, cleanup, and quality standards
- Install asphalt shingles, underlayment, flashing, vents, valleys, and related roofing components
- Complete roofing-related carpentry work, including fascia board replacement, minor wood repairs, rot repair, backing/blocking, and preparing roof edges for proper installation
- Keep jobs organized, productive, clean, and safe
- Review job details, materials, measurements, and site requirements
- Identify and report deficiencies, material shortages, site concerns, or workmanship issues
- Maintain strong production and quality standards
- Communicate clearly with management, homeowners, suppliers, and crew members when required
- Assist with metal roofing or exterior installation projects when shingle work is slower
- Be open to technical training for future metal roofing production opportunities
Requirements
- Strong asphalt shingle roofing experience
- Ability to lead, train, and support newer installers
- Experience running or helping run roofing jobs
- Ability to complete roofing-related carpentry and fascia board replacement
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded
- Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally
- Valid driver’s licence preferred
- Fall protection certification is an asset
- Own basic hand tools preferred
Appreciated Skills / Assets
The following are not all required, but would be considered strong assets:
- Ability to drive a company truck and trailer
- Previous leadership, foreman, lead hand, or crew lead experience
- Siding installation experience
- Spanish-speaking ability for crew communication
- Metal roofing or metal exterior installation experience
- General roofing experience beyond shingle installation
- Experience training or mentoring newer installers
- Ability to help organize materials, tools, site setup, and daily production
This Role Is Not a Fit If
This position is not the right fit for someone who only wants to install shingles and avoid leadership responsibility.

Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime may be available depending on workload
- Some weekends may be required depending on weather and project schedule
