Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide nursing care to hospitalized animals
- Maintain accurate medical records and document all procedures performed
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and health maintenance
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and treatment areas
- Support inventory management by ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels
- Obtain high-quality digital radiographs while following radiation safety protocols.
- Assist with ultrasound appointments when required.
Requirements
- Valid license as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or equivalent credential
- Prior laboratory experience is preferred to efficiently perform diagnostic testing and sample analysis
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners, team members, and veterinarians
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with professionalism and care
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
- Valid Driver's License to commute to our secondary location occasionally as needed.
- Previous experience in small animal practice preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia, surgery, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and patient nursing.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
- Experience with veterinary practice management software is considered an asset.
- Willingness to occasionally travel between clinic locations if required.
