We are seeking a full-time Lead Educator to support the delivery, administration, and continuous improvement of our Licensed Programs. This front-line leadership role combines classroom teaching with operational and administrative responsibilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality early learning programs. Working collaboratively with the Childcare Director, the Lead Educator will support program excellence, create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for children, and provide exceptional experiences for children, families, members, guests, and employees while ensuring compliance with Club policies and Alberta Child Care Licensing requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver engaging, high-quality early learning experiences that support children's development through play-based, emergent curriculum and Alberta Flight principles
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and creative development
- Support the day-to-day administration of the Licensed Programs, including program planning, documentation, scheduling, communications, and operational tasks
- Collaborate with the Childcare Director and Educator team to continuously enhance programming, support special events, and promote best practices in early childhood education
- Build positive relationships with children, families, members, and colleagues by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining open, professional communication
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and Club policies while maintaining accurate records and a well-organized learning environment
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture by sharing ideas, supporting colleagues, pursuing professional growth, and upholding the values of The Glencoe Club
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years' experienceworking in a licensed preschool or early learning environment, with demonstrated success in supporting child development, delivering high-quality early learning experiences, and building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Supervisory and/or leadership experience is considered an asset
- Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Early Childhood Education, with a minimum of Alberta Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 2 Certification required. ECE Level 3 Certification is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of emergent curriculum and play-based learning, with the ability to plan experiences based on children's interests, strengths, and developmental needs. Experience implementing Alberta's FLIGHT: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework is considered an asset
- Current Child Care First Aid and CPR/AED Certification (or equivalent meeting Alberta licensing requirements)
- Thorough knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Standards, Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and best practices in health, safety, and risk management within an early learning environment
- Demonstrated ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and creative development

Additional Details:
This is a full-time position that reports to the Childcare Director. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.
