Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing local dispatch operations, communicating with drivers, and ensuring timely deliveries. This is an afternoon shift position requiring available on weekdays and weekends.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of freight operations, trucking logistics, and the ability to coordinate and optimize transportation processes in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Coordinate and schedule local shipments with carriers and drivers
- Dispatch and monitor local deliveries to ensure on time service
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
- Communicate effectively with drivers to provide necessary information for successful deliveries
- Track shipments and respond to service issues or delays as they arise
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and update information
- Analyze freight data to optimize routes and improve operational efficiency
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
Requirements
- Experience in dispatching, shipping and receiving operations
- Proficient in phone etiquette and strong communication skills
- Knowledge of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations
- Familiarity with SyteLine and AS400 systems is a plus
- Ability to analyze information and make informed decisions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
