Summary
The key account manager works in conjunction with the Director of Sales to ensure business development in Western Canada by maintaining business relationships with customers, evaluating the range of products offered and participating in promotional activities.
The nature of the position implies privileged access to the following confidential documents: cost prices - supplier prices, customer lists, prospect lists, customer price lists, daily sales reports, territory business plan, various agreements, ongoing development projects, etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure that the required sales and profitability objectives are met;
· Conduct prospecting initiatives with new customers;
· Look for market development opportunities and new customers and niches;
· Maintain and strengthen business relationships with customers
· Ensure the maintenance of a healthy work environment (motivation, satisfaction, conflict management, etc.);
· Conduct market intelligence (products, consumer trends, technologies, etc.);
· Build programs for both established and new markets;
· Keeping abreast of market trends and products offered by competitors;
· Conduct web searches for products that can meet customer needs;
· Finding solutions to problems submitted by clients;
· Conduct meetings with product users to understand customer needs;
· Meet with customers to propose new solutions or new products;
· Assist in installations as needed to ensure the quality of products and work performed;
· Provide training on the use of products to customers;
· Ensure customer retention;
· Receive the customer's need for a large volume or large amount order;
· Identify the equipment, parts or products requested and the quantities required;
· Determine prices and delivery times by entering data into the Contal system;
· Prepare and write a quote;
· Send the quote to the client and follow up on it;
· Transfer, if applicable, the bid to a purchase order (P.O.);
· Prepare the packing slip and send it to the warehouse;
· Supervise the progress of orders for large-scale projects;
· Ensure that the warehouse routes the order when the merchandise is in stock or as soon as it is received;
· Perform and other related duties as required
· Travel the territory as required
