We are currently recruiting a Personal Support Worker for a private male employer, who is a T5 Paraplegic, with all activities of daily living.
His hobbies include watching the NFL and going outside. He previously enjoyed woodworking.
Location:
- Qualicum Beach (Near Salamander Pond)
Shift & Hours:
- Saturday: 12pm to 3pm
- back up/casual shifts available
Rate:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Personal care including but not limited to showering, and toileting
- Assistance with lift transfers
- Assist with Physiotherapy for hands and shoulders
- Clean and maintain Ostomy and catheter
- Light housekeeping
- Meal preparation
- Accompany and assistance on outings and medical appointments as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (required)
- Personal vehicle to commute with (required)
- Comfortable working in an environment with a medium dog (required)
- 2 years of caregiving experience for someone with a physical disability (required)
- Nursing or other formal education (preferred)
