Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled, second shift Beamline Automation Equipment (Python) Operator to join our welding and fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Lincoln Python automated cutting equipment to produce high-quality components efficiently and safely. This position plays a critical role in supporting production flow, quality standards, and continuous improvement within the shop.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Lincoln Python automated cutting system, ensuring proper setup and calibration for each job.
- Read and interpret cutting specifications, blueprints, and production orders.
- Monitor cutting operations to ensure quality, precision, and consistency.
- Make adjustments as required to maintain optimal performance and product quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished cuts to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, including part counts and material usage.
- Follow all safety protocols when operating equipment and handling materials.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and production efficiency.
- Assist with training new operators on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Requirements
- Experience operating Lincoln Python or similar automated cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of machine setup, operation, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and cutting/welding specifications.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with industry standards and material properties.
- Ability to perform routine inspections and maintenance.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is an asset.
