Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to support the development and well-being of young children in a classroom setting. This role involves assisting lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for children from infancy through preschool age. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children, strong communication skills, and a background in early childhood education or related experience working with young learners. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's growth and learning during their formative years.
Duties
- Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Assist with supervising children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and engagement.
- Help facilitate age-appropriate learning experiences, including basic math, language development, and fine motor skills activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment by encouraging participation and respectful interactions among children.
- Communicate effectively with children to support their individual needs and developmental progress.
- Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials, cleaning up after activities, and maintaining a tidy learning space.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities as needed and collaborating with specialists or therapists when required.
- Observe and document children's progress, behavior, and any concerns to share with lead teachers or parents.
Requirements
- Prior classroom experience or experience working directly with children is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Ability to engage children in educational activities that foster learning in areas such as math, literacy, and social skills.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting young children's growth.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining flexibility in daily routines.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a safe and nurturing space for children to thrive.
Pay: $18.50-$19.00 per hour
