The Opportunity:
Parks Operations maintain public green spaces and outdoor recreational facilities to ensure that a diverse parks system is maintained to the highest possible standard. We ensure opportunities for active and passive leisure that will enhance quality of life for individuals and the community.
Responsibilities include:
- Watering newly planted trees in parks, boulevards, cemetery, playgrounds, and other City property
- Operating 5 ton water truck
- May include tree planting, pruning, and other landscaping duties
You Bring:
- Ability to operate a 5-ton water truck
- Ability to operate light equipment
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with Q Endorsement
- Basic horticulture and landscaping experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Proven customer service skills
- A can-do, positive attitude

Additional Information:
Working Conditions:
This position is based on a 38-hour work week, consisting of 9.5 hour days. Duties are performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. The role is physically demanding and may require heavy lifting, prolonged bending, and kneeling.
Vacation:
If required, a maximum of 40 hours of unpaid vacation may be allotted during the term.
Pre Employment Requirements:
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current driver’s abstract and a criminal record check. These will be coordinated upon receipt of a job offer.
