Mechanical Designer
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles in the design and development of insulators.
- Prepare drawings and Bill of Materials for insulators.
- Develop specifications for insulator components
- Recommend improvements in the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of insulators.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical tests on insulators and hardware.
- Investigate and resolve insulator manufacturing and component technical issues.
- Prepare 3D models and mechanical load stress analysis of insulators and structures.
- Write technical reports.
- Prepare drawings for specifications (e.g. fittings, rod, rubber, packaging and hardware).
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a requirement.
- Capability in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook is a requirement.
- PLS CADD/Pole for mechanical analysis of power line structures is an asset.
- Familiarity with software development and computer programming ability is an asset.
- Technical writing and presentations
- Able to be a self-starter and work as part of a team
Experience
- Related work experience is an asset
Education
- Technical diploma or degree.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
