The General Labourer supports field operations by assisting with the installation and removal of access matting systems, civil construction activities, reclamation projects, equipment operation support, and general site maintenance.
This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and a commitment to maintaining safe and efficient job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading, unloading, installation, relocation, and removal of wooden and composite access mats
- Support civil construction activities, including grading, site preparation, erosion control, and material handling
- Assist with reclamation and environmental restoration projects
- Perform general labour duties around heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
- Conduct site cleanup and maintain organized, safe work areas
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and small equipment
- Complete daily inspections and basic maintenance on tools and equipment
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and client requirements
- Participate in daily hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, and safety programs
- Accurately complete timesheets, field reports, and required documentation
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, landowners, Indigenous communities, and project stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Previous experience in oil and gas, construction, reclamation, transportation, or access matting is considered an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and terrain conditions
- Willingness to travel and work at remote project locations throughout Western Canada
- Ability to work extended hours, rotational schedules, weekends, and overtime as required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment experience are considered assets
