Job Title: Experienced Grade Person / Civil Construction Labourer

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Grade Person to join our civil construction team. The successful candidate will work closely with excavator operators and site supervisors to ensure all grading, excavation, backfilling, and compaction activities are completed accurately and according to project specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and check grades and elevations using laser levels and surveying equipment.
- Work directly with excavator operators during excavation and grading operations.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, grading plans, and site layouts.
- Perform grade checking for footings, foundations, underground services, curbs, and site works.
- Assist with excavation, backfilling, and compaction activities.
- Ensure all work is completed according to project specifications and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and crew members to maintain productivity and quality.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Grade Person in civil construction, excavation, or site servicing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site plans.
- Experience using laser levels and grade-checking equipment.
- Knowledge of excavation, grading, backfilling, and compaction procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in site servicing, underground utilities, and roadwork projects.
- Experience working around heavy equipment and excavators.
- Knowledge of Ontario construction standards and safety requirements.
