The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry provides outstanding education within a research-intensive, distributed-learning environment where tomorrow’s physicians, dentists, health researchers and other scholars learn to be socially responsible leaders in the advancement of human health. The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is the largest Faculty on the Western University campus and employs over 2,000 part-time and full-time faculty.
The Department of Psychiatry is a diverse city-wide clinical academic department at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. The department encompasses the University, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and St. Joseph’s Health Care, London (SJHC), in London and St. Thomas, and has faculty and residents at the Windsor Campus.
The vision for the Department of Psychiatry is to be the acknowledged Centre of Excellence for psychiatric care and discovery in Southwestern Ontario with a mission to translate clinical research into treatment and provide regional consultation within interdisciplinary models of care.
The Department of Psychiatry is comprised of 90 Full-time Clinical Academics, 5 Basic Research Scientists and 13 administrative staff.
