Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Digital Press Operator with guillotine experience to join our production team. This role is responsible for operating small format digital press equipment and performing finishing tasks with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and quality control. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a print, manufacturing, or warehouse environment and is mechanically inclined with a strong understanding of production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate small format digital press equipment to produce high-quality printed materials
- Perform finishing tasks including guillotine cutting, trimming, folding, scoring (Duplo or similar), collating, and basic bindery
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain digital printing and finishing equipment to meet job specifications
- Accurately follow job dockets and production instructions to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy, sizing, and quantity
- Monitor inventory levels of paper, finishing supplies, and consumables; notify supervisor when stock is low
- Assist with packaging finished goods, including packing skids as required
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including material handling and order preparation
- Load and unload materials and assist with equipment operation (forklift/reach truck if certified)
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Report equipment issues or production concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company protocols
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines
- Assist in identifying and addressing safety risks within the production environment
- Support other production and warehouse functions as needed
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Skills & Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in digital print, manufacturing, or production environment preferred
- Hands-on experience operating a guillotine cutter is required
- Experience with digital press equipment and finishing machinery (folders, Duplo scoring machines) is an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production equipment
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications
- Good time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Experience in shipping/receiving, packaging, or warehouse operations is an asset
- Forklift or reach truck certification is an asset
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices in a production environment
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required
- Basic math and communication skills
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License is an asset
- Flexibility to work overtime when required

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
