Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Driller/Blaster to join our team in the construction field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and executing drilling/blasting operations safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of drilling/blasting techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work in various environments, including horizontal drilling sites.
Duties
- Carry out rock removal work using explosives.
- Handle explosives and set off blasts to fragment rock.
- Connect charges wtih selected detonators, primers, detonator wires and other materials.
- Handle and store explosives and accessories in accordance with regulations, and ensure that safety measures are observed.
- Complete blasting reports, inventory records and other appropriate documentation.
- Perform all other tasks related to the position.
Skills
- Professional training in drilling and blasting, or other training in a equivalent or related field.
- Recognized Blaster certification.
- Knowledge of explosive products and legislation governing the transport of hazardous materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to build solutions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and adherence to safety protocols.
- A valid automotive driver's license.
- No legal impediments related to employment.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
