The Role:
We're looking for a Business Development and Marketing Coordinator to join our team and take ownership of our client acquisition and retention initiatives as well as lead our marketing efforts. This is a hands-on role where you'll manage lawyer's business development activities, track efforts and results, and identify opportunities to grow the firm's profile and client base. You will also manage our digital presence, create compelling content, initiate and execute on marketing activities. You'll work closely with our lawyers and leadership team to translate complex IP concepts into accessible, engaging communications.
Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Research and identify new business opportunities, including speaking engagements, sponsorships, awards, and partnership prospects
- Website Management: Maintain and update our WordPress website, including content updates, plugin management, design improvements, and performance optimization
- Social Media: manage the firm's social media accounts and assist lawyers to leverage their reach on social media
- Content Creation: Write articles, blog posts, client alerts, and social media content that showcase our expertise and engage target audiences
- RFP & Pitch Support: Prepare and coordinate responses to requests for proposals, ensuring submissions are polished, compliant, and submitted on deadline
- Campaign Execution: Support email marketing campaigns, event coordination, and other promotional initiatives
- Brand Stewardship: Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity across all channels
- Charitable Work: manage marketing activities for our affiliated charitable program (Bhole IP Law Future Inventors Fund)
What We're Looking For:Required:
- Degree or diploma in commerce, business, marketing, communications, or a related field from a Canadian post-secondary institution
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Experience preparing proposals, pitch materials, or similar business documents
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently
- Proficiency with WordPress (theme customization, content management, basic troubleshooting)
- Understanding of, and willingness to use, AI tools
- Professional communication skills and comfort working with senior professionals
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with professional services or legal industry marketing
- Experience with SEO, Google Analytics, or email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
- Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Interest in intellectual property, innovation, or technology
