Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying joint compound, taping drywall seams, and preparing surfaces for finishing. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Drywall Taper plays a critical part in ensuring smooth wall surfaces and high-quality finishes on residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams with precision and consistency
- Sand and finish drywall surfaces to achieve a smooth, even appearance
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to ensure accurate application
- Prepare surfaces by caulking, sealing, and priming as needed
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to coordinate project tasks
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with minor handyman tasks or related duties as required
Experience
- Prior experience in construction painting, drywall installation, or finishing preferred
- Knowledge of carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading is highly desirable
- Handyman experience is a plus for handling miscellaneous repair tasks
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and procedures
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various project environments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.38-$33.17 per hour
