SUMMARY: The General Maintenance Electrical / Mechanical will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. The position will also support in repairing, maintaining, overhauling and installing a variety of machinery, including pumps, motors, grinders, blowers, compressors, presses, injection systems and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The incumbent will be reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
ROLE:-
To plan and assist in the implementation of a rigorous, preventative maintenance program as well as a predictive maintenance program to minimize the plant’s downtime.

Troubleshoot all phases of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems of all plant equipment.

Work alongside, give direction and/or assist outside contractors whom have been hired to assist the organization.

Have a solid understanding and the ability to program and troubleshoot in-plant PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) system.

Dismantle, clean, and re-assemble equipment as needed.

Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up.

Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes in order to facilitate production.

Coordinate and report on all equipment defects and/or failures to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
- Participate in workplace safety and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety standards in accordance with current legislation and Active Exhaust’s Health and Safety Policy and best practices.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
DESIRED SKILLS:-
A college diploma in Electro-Mechanical (Robotics) program

Minimum 5 years' Industrial Electrician experience is an asset with preference given to those with a background in a manufacturing environment

Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of hydraulic, pumps and compressors, pneumatic and PLC controls, math skills and strong troubleshooting ability

Ability to understand blueprints and specifications

Must be computer literate (including familiarity with Microsoft office suite)

Must be willing to work outside of regular business hours and perform on call support as required in support of plant operations

Demonstrates initiative and can work both independently and/or as part of a team

Analytical thinker with the ability to take a logical approach to problem-solving
REQUIREMENTS:-
Min. grade 12 or equivalent education

Must pass both written and practical weld test
