We are currently seeking for a potential candidate to join our team as a Medical Office Assistant. We have one full-time opportunity (incumbent must be flexible to work day-time and one evening shift 12 -8 as well as williness to cover off the occasional weekend shift on an as needed basis). The MOA position is key to the smooth and efficient operation of the centre and is responsible for providing a professional and a positive impact when greeting patients and visitors and to ensure that the patient flow runs smoothly and efficiently with effective use of customer service, organizational and administrative skills.
Knowledge:
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Community college diploma or certificate in Business Administration/Medical Secretarial Arts or equivalent working experience; and
Ability to maintain patient and centre confidentiality.
Skills:
The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:
Positive attitude, pleasant and professional manner in person and over the phone;
Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member to achieve desired results;
Excellent customer service and exceptional verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills;

Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult situations in a calm manner;
Ability to produce high quality in accordance with centre standards;
Demonstrated ability to complete general administrative duties as required;
Must be able to handle work volume fluctuations;
Strong applied knowledge in computer applications; and
1-2 years of experience in a medical setting is an asset;
Knowledge of clinical procedures an asset;
Knowledge of EMRs is an asset.
