Mill shop Production – Nu‑Fab
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Nu‑Fab, part of the All‑Fab Group of Companies, is seeking a detail‑oriented and safety‑focused Mill shop Production Technician to support the cutting and assembly of residential stairs and doors. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys craftsmanship, working with tools, and contributing to a high‑performing production team.
Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for executing the cut/build process with accuracy, consistency, and pride in workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up equipment according to company procedures and production standards.
- Operate a variety of industry‑related tools and machinery.
- Inspect materials, cut pieces, and finished work to ensure quality and accuracy, report issues to the Supervisor.
- Complete all work order documentation related to each job.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation throughout the shift, including end‑of‑day cleanup.
- Operate all equipment safely, correctly, and responsibly as instructed.
Working Conditions
- Industrial production plant environment with sawdust, machine noise, and moving equipment.
- Occasional outdoor yard work in year‑round weather conditions.
Experience
- Ability to use a hammer and read a tape measure (foot‑inch‑sixteenth method).
- Experience operating multiple woodworking or manufacturing tools.
- Ability to read and understand work orders.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly wood and building components.
- Ability to visit job sites, design stairs, and use computer‑based tools.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Team‑oriented, cooperative, and supportive.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and safe work practices.
- Ability to organize, direct, and train Assemblers as required.
- Comfortable working with saws, routers, nailers, and other production tools.

Lean & Continuous Improvement
- Apply Lean principles to support efficiency and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Lean Facilitator to help make Nu‑Fab a Lean organization.

- Promote and model safe work practices.
- Support staff, customers, and contractors in following all Safety Policies.
