Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties throughout the scrap yard
- Assist equipment operators and other team members as needed
- Load, unload, sort, and move materials, tools, and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and operating procedures
- Report equipment issues, damage, or maintenance needs to supervision
- Provide support across the facility as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
- Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Basic knowledge of machines, tools, and equipment operation
Work Environment
- Outdoor and indoor work in an active scrap recycling facility
- Regular exposure to weather, dust, noise, dirt, machinery, and moving equipment
- Required use of PPE, including safety shoes, hearing protection, and other protective equipment
- Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on operational needs
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand and walk on uneven surfaces
- Consistently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Regular bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, twisting, and climbing
- Ability to perform physical work throughout an entire shift
