We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Automotive / Diesel Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a licensed technician with strong diagnostic abilities, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship and customer service. Experience with both light-duty automotive and diesel vehicles is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain gas and diesel vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, and driveline repairs.
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, and fuel system issues.
- Perform computerized diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket scan tools.
- Conduct vehicle inspections, including safety inspections, CVIP inspections (if certified), and Out-of-Province inspections.
- Accurately document inspections, repairs, and recommendations.
- Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and company repair procedures.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair recommendations.
- Assist apprentices and other technicians when required.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Automotive Service Technician Certification (Required).
- Diesel experience is considered a strong asset.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
Preferred Experience
- Automotive and diesel repair experience.
- Experience with domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
- Experience performing digital vehicle inspections.
- CVIP Inspection License (Asset).
- Out-of-Province Inspection Certification (Asset).
- Welding and fabrication experience (Asset).
