ADULT RELIEF PROPRIETOR
Would you like to open your home to a male adult with developmental disabilities and make an incredible difference in his life?
This individual likes the community and peers but also likes a lot of down time in the home resting. You would bring him into your home 2 weekends (48hr period) per month; or as required or agreed upon.
The Company:
Parkland C.L.A.S.S. is a family-based organization, focused on increasing the quality of life for children and adults with developmental disabilities through individual choice, dignity and rights since 1963. We support over 350 Individuals in Central Alberta and in The North West Territories.
The Position:
Providing a stable, supportive home environment, encourage positive development and personal growth; facilitate daily routine activities; encourage and assist engagement in meaningful community involvement; participate in the development and implementation of personalized goals; and promoting, empowering and supporting an Individual’s wellness is all aspects of life. Required duties are: community outings, follow behavior support plan, incontinence support, medication administration, personal hygiene, prepare meals, toileting support.
Relief/Part Time Opportunities:

Remuneration is $137.50 tax free per 24-hour period
Requirements:

Completed Grade 12 Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

Class 5 driver’s license and own vehicle (with valid insurance & registration)

Acceptable Driver’s Abstract

Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Record Check)

Private room for the individual

Non-smoking, clean and safe living environment

Home must comply with required safety standards

Experience with Schizophrenia and Fragile X
