The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Charge Nurse for our 11-bed secure Cognitive Behavioral Unit. This unit specializes in the assessment and treatment of older adults experiencing complex symptoms of dementia and unstable medical conditions. As a leader in our collaborative care model, you will facilitate evidence-based rehabilitation plans alongside an inter-professional team, patients, and their families. This role requires a balance of clinical leadership, psychosocial expertise, and a hands-on approach to patient care. As the Charge Nurse, you will be overseeing daily operations, providing guidance to the care team, leading rapid rounds, team conferences and leading de-escalation efforts during behavioral emergencies using NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) techniques. The Charge Nurse is also required to take a patient assignment and to actively participate in all aspects of daily living support, including feeding, hygiene, and mobility. This position requires extensive physical care, continuous standing and walking.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:
Must have Charge Nurse experience,1-3 years' experience working in an acute medical unit, sub-acute or rehabilitation unit. Must be proficient in electronic documentation (CC), experience with Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), dementia certificate in supportive pathways, dementia capable, dementia care, PIECES, demonstrated experience working with patients with dementia.
Preferred Qualifications:
FIM training, Alaris pump and PICC line experience.
