Career Contacts is partnering with our client who is seeking a detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to support their Finance team. In this role, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and support a range of day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities that contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.

Schedule: Monday - Friday
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Wage: $65,000 - $75,000 per year
Location: Surrey, BC (in-office)

Responsibilities:
- Support payment processing activities such as cheque and EFT preparation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and supplier records
- Assist with account reconciliations, including credit cards and selected balance sheet accounts
- Support payroll processing activities, including data entry, validation, and basic reconciliation support
- Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice entry, coding, and preparing items for approval
- Help with job costing and internal reporting as required
- Support tax filing preparation activities (GST/PST) under guidance
- Assist with month-end close activities, including basic journal entry support
- Provide general bookkeeping support and assist with additional finance-related tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Accounting certificate or diploma preferred
- 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills, especially Excel
- High attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and take direction in a team environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Exposure to QuickBooks Desktop or similar accounting systems
- Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now
- Experience with AP automation tools
