Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Framing Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing frameworks for buildings and structures, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, blueprint reading, and the use of various hand and power tools. The Framing Carpenter will work closely with project managers and other trades to deliver high-quality craftsmanship in residential, commercial, or restoration projects.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute framing projects accurately.
- Construct wall frames, floors, roofs, and other structural components using wood, steel, or concrete forms.
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely to cut, shape, and assemble framing materials.
- Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks as required for structural support.
- Install siding, drywall, insulation, and other exterior or interior building components.
- Assist with restoration projects by repairing or replacing damaged framing structures.
- Use hand tools such as saws, hammers, drills, levels, and measuring devices efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents during heavy lifting or when working with heavy equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry or construction work with a focus on framing.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing techniques, and welding is a plus.
- Experience with woodworking, siding installation, restoration projects, and concrete finishing preferred.
- Capable of heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid <PERSON> certification or relevant licensing is desirable but not mandatory.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks over extended periods in various weather conditions.
