W5 Mechanical based out of Sundre, AB is looking for a reliable, highly motivated Heavy Duty Field Service Mechanic to join the team. This isn't a shop job, you won't be staring at the same 4 walls. You will be operating out of a service truck troubleshooting and repairing on site for our clients. Our core business keeps the forestry sector moving however we do occasionally work on construction equipment. You will be working primarily on logging machinery, performing everything from routine fleet maintenance to complex diagnostic troubleshooting and field repairs. While we prefer a Journeyman, we are willing to consider and invest in a skilled apprentice who has strong foundational knowledge, a strong work ethic and experience with heavy equipment.
Responsibilities:
~Operate a field service truck to diagnose, service and repair a variety of equipment.
~Perform advanced troubleshooting on hydraulic, electrical, engine and powertrain systems.
~Conduct emergency field repairs and routine preventative maintenance in outdoor conditions.
~Prioritize safety above all else, ensuring yourself and your mobile workspace is secure and compliant.
Requirements:
~Proven experience working on heavy equipment.
~Strong diagnostic and electrical/hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
~A clean driver's abstract and valid license.
~A self starter mindset.
~Your own basic tools.
~Must work well with others & on your own.
