SVP DJS is looking for a Setup & Teardown Assistants!
We're a Calgary-based DJ and event production company and we're looking for a reliable, hard-working individual to join our team on a part-time, event-by-event basis.
What you'll be doing:
Loading, transporting, and setting up DJ and production equipment
Assisting with lighting, sound, and staging at venues
Tearing down and packing up after events
Working weddings, South Asian events (jagos, sangeets, baraats), corporate events, and more
What we're looking for:
Some experience with AV, events, or production is preferred
Physically able to lift and move equipment
Punctual, dependable, and a team player
Must be available afternoons, evenings, and late nights
Primarily weekends with some weekday shifts
Compensation: $18–$20/hr cash, based on experience and must drive

Duties
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging equipment, decorations, and supplies
- Support event staff in coordinating activities and managing attendee flow
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and guiding guests during events
- Manage registration processes, distribute materials, and ensure attendee check-in runs smoothly
- Monitor event spaces to maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout the event duration
- Help with troubleshooting any issues that arise during events promptly and professionally
- Support promotional efforts by distributing flyers or engaging with attendees as needed
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional attitude
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Prior experience in customer service or event support is a plus but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential
- Basic physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light lifting tasks

Pay: $18.00-$25.47 per hour
